Genessee Valley Region RID is approved by the RID Certification Maintenance Program (CMP) to sponsor Continuing Education Activities, PINRA and CEUs for college courses. Alyx Vaisey is our CMP Coordinator.
Each cycle is 4 years long, during which the interpreter must earn eight (8) CEUs (one hour equals 0.1 CEU). Six (6) CEUs must be in the area of Professional Studies. CEUs may also be earned in the area of General Studies, however only two (2) CEUs will count toward certification maintenance.
Through GVRRID, there are 4 ways you can earn CEUs.
- Sponsor Initiated Workshops
- PINRA (Participant Initiated Non-RID Activities)
- Academic Coursework
- Independent Study
See our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) or contact Alyx Vaisey if you can not find what you are looking for.
Also you may visit RID's Certificate Maintenance Program for information about what CMP is and how to earn credits through the program.
